New Year, New starts

Well I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year.

The middle of last year started to be a half a year of first for me, and now I'm hoping the coming year will get better and better.

I haven't made any new years resolutions, as I have started to think why wait until new year to make changes or why say this is what I'll do this year. I think it's a time to change what you don't like right now and do things you want to do and hey if it doesn't happen there is always tomorrow or something else you can work towards.

I have been working hard on my short story and have written 3,100 words today - my mind is currently feeling like mush, due to a late now and now sitting in front of the laptop for the last 4 hours - head desk!! - hoping to be finished soon and will be if I keep this pace up.

SO do any of my few blog readers have an new year resolutions?

And would anyone like to be on my blog for any reason at all?

  1. Alaine, good luck with your current story. 3100 is an awesome word count!

As an almost unpublished writer (two articles and an in-house software training guide, which I don't count seeing they're not fiction!), I've just left my Day Job to write full time.

I figure no income will be a powerful motivator to get writing and submitting! So my one and only New Year's Resolution is to write and sub as much as I can (still targetting Harlequin Superromance for my longer sweeter small town stories), and to self-publish my spicier novellas.

2013 is going to be a fun and busy year!
